Perth Amboy Free Public Library Announces REV250 Celebration: Experience America’s 250th Anniversary

Perth Amboy, NJ — The Perth Amboy Free Public Library is proud to announce the launch of “Experience REV250 at Your Library: Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary,” a dynamic series of programs, resources, and community activities honoring the nation’s quincentennial milestone.
Made possible through the support of the Carnegie Foundation Perth Amboy REV250 Committee, Mayor Helmin J. Caba’s Administration, and the Friends of the Perth Amboy Public Library, this initiative will bring history to life for residents of all ages through engaging and educational experiences.
Throughout the spring and summer of 2026, the library will offer a wide range of programming, including expert-led lectures on Revolutionary War history, interactive children’s programs, film screenings, curated book collections, and community reading challenges with prizes. These offerings are designed to highlight the people, stories, and events that shaped the founding of the United States while fostering a deeper appreciation for Perth Amboy’s unique historical role.
In addition, the library will introduce the REV250 Magical History Trolley Tour, an immersive experience that will showcase local historical landmarks and connect residents directly with the city’s rich past. Additional educational and family-friendly activities will ensure that community members of all ages can participate in this once-in-a-generation celebration.
“This is an exciting opportunity for our community to come together and reflect on our shared history,” said library representatives. “REV250 is not just about looking back—it’s about engaging the present and inspiring future generations through education, culture, and civic pride.”
The REV250 celebration extends beyond the library, with programs and events taking place throughout the City of Perth Amboy. Residents are encouraged to stay informed about upcoming events and initiatives by subscribing to the City’s official website.
